Romy Sauvayre is a Maître de conférences HDR in sociology at Université Clermont Auvergne and the LAPSCO laboratory (CNRS). Her research addresses the spread of knowledge and beliefs in analogue and digital public spaces, including scientific controversies (vaccines, Covid-19, neuroscience), conspiracy theories, and adherence to fringe beliefs. She was elected a Full Member of Sigma Xi in 2025.
